Bloomsburg Field Hockey Opens with 6-0 Win
SLIPPERY ROCK--Maggey Bloskey (Danville/Danville) and Chelsea Due (Pen Argyl/Pen Argyl) each scored two goals to lead the Bloomsburg University field hockey to a 9-1 win over Slippery Rock on Saturday.
The Huskies jumped out to a 5-0 lead at halftime with five different players scoring goals, including Bloskey at the 13 minute mark.
In the second half, Bloskey scored her second goal of the game in the 55th minute, while Due scored twice. Jamie Vanartsdalen (Huntingdon Valley/Lower Moreland) continued to inch closer to the NCAA Division II all-time record for career points after assisting on the game's first goal. She now has 203 for her career and needs four more to become Division II's all-time leader in points.
Bloomsburg, 2-0, will play at Philadelphia University on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
